Notes
Groupe BPCE, France's second-largest banking group, serves its Banque Populaire and Caisse d'Epargne networks (and Natixis) from one PSD2 portal built to the French STET standard — account information, payment initiation and funds-availability checks — known as the 89C3 API platform.
Groupe BPCE API: frequently asked questions
Does Groupe BPCE have a public API?
Yes. Groupe BPCE publishes regulated PSD2 open banking APIs covering account information (AIS), payment initiation (PIS) and confirmation of funds (CBPII), plus premium APIs beyond that baseline. Registration and documentation live on its developer portal at https://developer.bpce.fr.
Does Groupe BPCE offer an API sandbox?
Yes. The sandbox is self-service, so you can sign up and start calling it without a commercial agreement in place.
Which open banking standard does the Groupe BPCE API use?
STET (France): the open-banking API standard used by French (and some Belgian) banks. Two banks on the same standard can still differ in the details, so read the bank's own documentation before you build.
How do you authenticate with the Groupe BPCE API?
OAuth 2.0, with redirect SCA for the customer consent step. Production access to the regulated endpoints also means registering as a licensed third-party provider with the bank.
Does Groupe BPCE offer premium APIs beyond PSD2?
Yes. We have recorded 3 premium categories on Groupe BPCE: statement reporting, bulk payments and direct debits & mandates. These sit above the regulated PSD2 baseline and are the ones corporate treasury teams tend to care about.
Which countries does the Groupe BPCE API cover?
France.
Is the Groupe BPCE API free to use?
Banks generally do not charge licensed third-party providers for the regulated open banking endpoints, which is the point of the mandate. Premium APIs above that baseline are commercial products priced by the bank. BankSnipe does not track pricing, so confirm it with the bank.
How mature is the Groupe BPCE API?
BankSnipe scores it 5 out of 5 (Mature). The score counts how many of the four product signals are live: AIS, PIS, CBPII and premium APIs beyond the regulated PSD2 baseline.
